My Story

My love for dogs began before I could even say the word "dog"—as a two-year-old, all I wanted were stuffed animals to play with. That early passion only grew stronger, and in 2014, I began working professionally with dogs. I started as a kennel attendant at a large facility and quickly moved into a managerial role. From there, I took a leap and opened my own boarding and daycare business, along with a rescue dedicated to helping high-energy, working dogs who had ended up in shelters.

My path eventually led me to an incredible opportunity: working with world-renowned dog trainer, behaviorist, and expert Ian Dunbar and his family. The time I spent with them was transformative. I learned so much, not just about training dogs, but about understanding them on a deeper level. That experience gave me the confidence and clarity to step into my own journey as a professional dog trainer.

Over the years, while building my skills and growing my business, I’ve trained and competed in a variety of dog sports—and that’s where my heart truly lies. Dogs are amazing, capable creatures with a wide range of talents, and there’s nothing quite like the connection you build when you train and compete together. Because of my dogs, I’ve traveled across the country, seen new places, and met some of the best people I know.

The word bold really resonates with me. Not because I’ve always felt bold, but because I’ve learned to be. Sometimes, you have to step outside your comfort zone, take the leap, and trust the process. Luckily, I have some incredible dogs by my side who help me find that courage every day.

One of my biggest inspirations is my blind Bloodhound, Banjo. Watching him compete in dock diving, fully trusting me to guide him, reminds me what it truly means to be bold. If he can take that leap—literally—without hesitation, then I can too. We owe our dogs that same trust they so freely give us.
